"First, let me get this out of the way. Neither I, nor anyone in our family, is in any way affiliated with Casey Fence & Deck. No one is related. No business connections. And we paid full price for work done.
Second, the negative reviewers either work for a competitor or have some sort of personal vendetta against life. Clearly, they enjoy being unhappy or want everyone to be as miserable as they.
On to the review.
Our existing pressure treated deck was over 20 years old. Boards were beginning to sag. It was out of square and out of code. And, honestly, at our age, we were tired of staining and painting every few years. Helpful tidbit: Even though products are advertised as 10 year, they really only last 2 to 3.
My wife and I made the decision to go with composite and began looking for decking companies.
After looking at a few, we just couldn't find anyone who stood out.
We found Casey Fence & Deck through 2 neighbors in our development, who had them replace existing decks. Both beautifully done.
We then spoke to Brendan at the Home Show two years ago at a local Community College. We set up an appointment and Brendan came out, took measurements and gave us a quote in a few days.
To say we were a little shocked at the price would be an understatement. We weren't prepared for the price of a half-decent used car. We definitely didn't want to take out a loan, so we told Brendan we needed time to beef up the savings account. All Brendan said was "No problem. Just call when you're ready." No sales pressure. No "this deal is only good for today." Not even a "your deck won't last until then." Simply call when you're ready. Now that is a business model I can get behind.
Fast forward to this year. When we called Brendan and told him we're finally ready, he remembered us. He came out, made sure we were still ok with the plans and gave us some samples from which to choose.
Once the contract was signed, the longest wait was for permits.
When the construction crew arrived, they were very courteous and professional. They arrived promptly by 7:30 each morning and were great at keeping us updated as things progressed. It’s obvious they offer decades of experience.
Now, all that’s well and good, but this deck is something else. Another reviewer put it succinctly: there are deck builders and there deck craftsmen. These are craftsmen and it’s obvious in the finished product.
It’s true you get what you pay for, and it is an investment. But it is well worth it.
We are so impressed with the entire experience. I’d give 10 stars if it were available" - David
